BBC Worldwide bought Lonely Planet

The commercial arm of the world-known BBC - BBC Worldwide, has purchased Lonely Planet, the travel guide publisher. The Lonely planet company was founded in 1972 by Tony and Maureen Wheeler. Since then, it has published about 500 travel guides about various world travel destinations, and has become very popular with backpackers. The company also develops travel programmes and its web site is visited by around 4,3 million people every month......All News
